Chalk and lime based paints have had a colourful history. Dating back to the 14th century in Italy, natural ingredients like chalk, lime, clay, mud and even dirt have been used to create paint. Truly paints that have survived the test of time
Is Chalk Finish safe to use on children’s toys or
furniture?
Yes! Chalk Paint is
Non-Toxic, Low VOC and without harmful additives.
It’s safe to use on children’s furniture (including Cots) and other juvenile products.
How to apply chalk paint finish?
Turn the paint pot upside down and leave it for
a couple of minutes. Open the pot and stir or shake well before use. Surface must
be dry and clean. Use the paint as it is or add some water to create a more washed
effect. If you want the paint to become thicker, leave the lid off for a couple of
hours.Colours will dry darker when it has dried. This is absolutely normal. Apply
with a brush, roller or airless. For depth of colour apply at least two thin coats
(some colours might need more coats).Chalk Finish is great for decorative painting
and to create an aged look.
It is easy to sand between coats to create the shabby chic look. Make the paint water repellent by finishing with Only Green eco-wax or Only Green Glaze & medium.
