You can you use a brush or roller though using a brush for best results for a texture finish. Dab with brush if you want texture, roll if you want a smooth finish

FOR BEST EFFECT: Dab with a damp rag to create a look before paint dries or wait until the Chalk Finish is dry and sand with a grit sandpaper to create the result you want.

FINISHING: Leave if you wish a chalky finish or...you can apply a wax which will deepen the colour with a satin finish or... apply a “2-in-1 Clearcoat” to achieve a protective film with minimal colour change.

Aging or Antique Look.... Paint & Stain If you have a piece of furniture which may be made from customwood or perhaps is passed varnishing then this a way of creating a antique look using Chalk finish and Only Greens range of 2-in-1 Satin and varnish. Smooth finish works best when creating this project.

PREPARE: New wood made require a primer to seal in tannins and allow for easy coverage. Existing painted work will need a light sand before painting.

APPLY: (1) Apply 2 coats of Distressed Chalk Finish. (White is best and use the 2-in-1 Stain and Varnish to do antiquing. It is best to use a Brush and brush in one direction to achieve an even finish.  (2) Sand with very fine sandpaper (240-320 grit) until smooth without going back to the substrate (3)Apply 2-in-1 Stain and varnish either with a rag, sponge or brush in an uneven pattern. We would suggest you do at least 2 coats and practise on waste piece of timber to help decide the pattern you want.

FOR BEST EFFECT: Damp the brush, rag or sponge before applying 2-in-1 Stain and Varnish as this will make achieving the effect much easier.

FINISHING: If you have applied 2 coats of  2-in-1 Stain and Varnish the surface should be sealed. If you want additional protection coat with “Clearcoat” to achieve maximum protection (particularly good in bathrooms and kitchens).
